Old Hardware and new software, will they work together?
Are you having new problems with your old hardware? Computers and the hardware that makes up a computer can be upgraded gradually but who wants to do that? Like children, we want it NOW! Upgrades are not instant in most cases, but if done carefully it won't be a painful process. In todays economy it seems that everyone is trying to get the most out of their current hardware. This is a wise decision but upgrading to a new operating system such as Vista or Windows 7 will only work on fairly new hardware. Windows 7 will install on older computers than Vista but it will work better on newer hardware. Old hardware or even old computers which are over three years old will need an upgrade and sometimes it can be a major one. Have you ever considered what was in your computer? All of the pieces and parts that work together to give you the experience of using a PC? Like everything, each part ages differently. Those that are used more will wear out quicker. Some may get dirty and overheat. Some of the electronic parts just corrode with time and stop working. The capacitors will eventually corrode to the point of leaking and then the PC starts having problems which are hard to track down until you look at the system board. Once the problem starts affecting the system board itself, it may be time to think of a new computer. Because the cost of replacing the system board and all the other parts that go with it will exceed the cost of a new computer in most cases.

Can an older PC be fixed or upgraded?
Decide what you really want to do with your computer. What am I going to use this for? Recording video or music? Playing games? Or maybe just surfing the Internet and socializing with friends. The difference between those three uses are widely different. Are you into photography or video production? Do you like to play games in 3-D environments so realistic that it looks like a movie? Computers and the hardware to handle these tasks are available but they require much more "horsepower" than a normal office-type PC. If any of this sounds like your situation or if you just need a computer analyzed to see if it can be upgraded. Check out this link, I may be able to help.
