This page is about me and my home town of Lexington, MS where my business is located.Home Town Computer Services is located in the Lexington, Mississippi area in central Mississippi. I have lived here for over thirty years and have been interested in computers for almost that long. I have always enjoyed living near the town of Lexington and its charming small town atmosphere. The people here are friendly and it has that antebellum feeling of an old Southern town, well lived in and comfortable. When computers first started appearing, my mom couldn't afford one so I had to wait until I could. I have been building and working on my own and others for about twelve years. I have also been using and experimenting with open source software, specifically Linux for almost that long. My favorite distributions are PCLinuxOS and Ubuntu because they are both very easy to use. I am not a programmer, so I can't “hack” into the kernel but I do enjoy using them because of not having to worry about malicious software like spy ware or viruses. I will be posting a link to my book on Using Computers soon. It will have all of the information from my website plus some other information I will include that is not part of my site.
